First Matches - Tour Blog 2

Lads had great time last night with hosts. Arrived at the school at 7:00 as school starts at 7:15!! But they finish at13:00 Some tired lads so we woke them up with a light training at the school followed by a trip to the local shopping mall for a light pasta lunch.
2nd XV lost their unbeaten record due only to the hosts using their 1st XV bench as replacements in the 2nd half. A great game enjoyed by all with all fit lads getting match time. Scorers were Mackenzie and Stead in a final score line of 12 to 24 . A good team effort all round with plenty of rolling substitutions as lads suffered from cramp and lack of match fitness. Hulme converted 1.
1st XV looked a little rusty and having made a good start with a try from Allot failed to capitalise on a majority of possession and position.  After half time they showed more commitment  to the break down produced quicker ball leading to 2 further tries for the backs and ended with 2 further tries, the 1st from Allen and the last from Browning, fielding a clever cross field kick.  All converted by Allen and all subs going on at half time.
Thanks to Windhoek HS for their hosting and their complimentary observations on QEGS’ lads especially their behaviour and the diet they must be on at home to be so physically strong.  The after match function was a great success with more exchanges of gifts and compliments.
The lads intend to have a small celebration at Joe’s House for  Sam Rogers’ birthday.
